Ocean Beach Architectural Off-Grid Sanctuary

Beekeepers is an off-grid house on the coast situated in a 640 acre sanctuary. Nature abounds on the property and the secluded Morgans beach in front.

I was asked to photograph this amazing property by the owner who is a personal friend, and of course I jumped at the opportunity as we have stayed here a number of times, its unforgettable, the design, the functionality, and of course the constantly evolving views!

We had the best weather for the full day photo shoot as you can see.

Within the property, people can play on the sand dunes, visit Morgans beach, fish, surf, spot wildlife and walk.

The surrounding area enables visits to the Cape Liptrap lighthouse, gorgeous Walkerville, wineries, cafes, walks, fishing and surfing.

The house has 4 bedrooms. It has an outdoor pool looking over the ocean, a rumpus room, very large living area with kitchen. There’s also a tower with 2 large leather chairs where you can relax and watch the waves.

The house generates its’ own electricity, catches its’ own water, treats all waste through the worm farm and the fire heats a water boiler behind the fire that is transmitted to hydronic panels in each room for heating.

The property is natural, the ocean, wild.

The driveway is 3km long and winds through amazing heath land, a banksia forest, a tea tree forest and finally to the house. Keep your eyes open, you may see, wallabies, wombats, echidna, deer and even a snake.

It’s a real back to nature experience in luxury. Being on the ocean, some days are sunny and calm and others rather windy. Either way it’s always a spectacular view!

You can view an ABC story on the house:
